School Organisation

Ownership

  • TISOL is owned and operated by the International Education Agency of PNG. The IEA is a not-for-profit organisation formed under an act of the PNG Parliament.
  • The IEA Board delegates local management of the school to the TISOL School Board and to the School Principal.

School Association 

  • The School Association is a registered association. The Annual General Meeting of the Association, which is held each year, elects officers for the following twelve months.

Governance

  • As a member of the International Education Agency TISOL is governed by the direction of the IEA Board of Management, which consists of representatives from the local School Board of Governors of the schools. The IEA Board has ultimate responsibility for the direction and management of TISOL.  - for more information on the School Board

School Administration

  • Day-to-day management of the school is under the direction of the school Principal. The Principal is appointed by the IEA in consultation with the School Board.

School Finances

  • TIS is a non-profit making organisation. The school depends almost entirely on fees as its only source of income. The school maintains accounts of financial activity.

Parents and Friends Association

Enquiries

  • For initial enquiries about student learning or conduct parents should see the class teacher concerned.
  • Enquiries regarding uniforms, school fees or other administrative matters please contact the school office.
  • All enquiries about matters not satisfactorily resolved through normal channels or of a serious nature should be addressed to the Principal or Deputy Principal.

Complaints

  • Any serious matters or complaints about services provided should be initially and confidentially addressed to the Principal.
  • Complaints from parents or others will only be considered by the School Board or IEA until all other avenues (including through the Principal's Office) have been exhausted.
